What is Yoga Therapy? 

Yoga therapy combines yoga concepts and practices with rehabilitation to achieve specific treatment goals unique to each individual. It is a self-empowering process that allows the individual to mobilize his/her own healing resources in order to:

  • Eliminate and/or manage symptoms
  • Improve overall function
  • Prevent reoccurrence of injuries/conditions
  • Restore/maintain health and well-being

At Hawkesbury Therapy, we offer personalized yoga therapy sessions that consist of a warm-up followed by a series of yoga poses and movements (also called asanas). The therapist provides guidance through various flow sequences that link breath with movement and adapt to the needs of the individual.
